Work at Sol Fitness Adventures, LLP

Mission Statement

Sol Fitness Adventures provides outdoor explorations that enhance the fitness lifestyle by challenging the body, expanding the spirit, and engaging the senses with wilderness.

Sol Fitness Adventures is looking for hard-working, adventurous, physically fit leaders possessing the personality and qualifications necessary to work in the high-end customer service industry - in the outdoors. If you're interested in guiding one of our 2008 adventures, or if you have a product, idea, or venue in mind, we want to hear from you.

Terms of Employment

Employment for the 2008 Summer Season is on a temporary, trip-by-trip basis as an independent contractor. Payment will be made for contracted services only, meaning that you will not be hired as an employee of Sol Fitness Adventures, LLP, and payment of all applicable State and Federal taxes is your sole responsibility. Contracted employees are required to work according to the guidelines, rules of conduct, and customer service standards of Sol Fitness Adventures, LLP. Length of contracted services will be specified.

Job Openings for the 2008 Summer Season

Assistant Trip Leader / Backpacking Guide for Redrock Backpacker: Parunuweap Canyon, Utah

Dates: August 28 - September 1; September 4 - 8

Assistant Trip Leader / Cycling Guide for Alpine Fitness Retreat: Deer Valley, Utah

Dates: Availability August 7 - 10; August 14 - 17

Qualified applicants will possess the following skills:

Assistant Trip Leader / Backpacking Guide

  • Basic First Aid/CPR
  • Wilderness First Aid and/or Wilderness First Responder - REQUIRED
  • Food Handlers Permit
  • Ability to carry a backpack weighing 60 - 70 pounds
  • Excellent physical condition
  • 3 years experience in a customer-service related industry
  • 5 years work experience
  • Proficiency in outdoor skills such as GPS navigation, topographical map reading, and backcountry cooking
  • Familiarity with the desert and/or river environment
  • Expertise in physical fitness, wildlife, or the natural sciences preferred
  • College Degree preferred

 

Assistant Trip Leader / Cycling Guide

  • Basic First Aid/CPR
  • Wilderness First Aid and/or Wilderness First Responder - preferred
  • Excellent physical condition
  • Proficient in bicycle maintenance and repair
  • 3 years experience in a customer-service related industry
  • 5 years work experience
  • Expertise in physical fitness, wildlife, or the natural sciences preferred
  • College Degree preferred
